3D Modeling Challenge: Fantasy Characters is over! Here are the winners

3D Modelling Challenge: Fantasy Characters has officially ended on 14th of November. Yet, it was truly special due to many reasons.

It was the first challenge since 2020, meaning our community has been really waiting for such contests to be back. For the challenge we collaborated with YAHAHA Studios which is a free no-code platform that helps your 3D creation get started easily. Our partners established a prize pool of $10,000 which was distributed to 15 different winners. We are glad to share that the challenge received more than 1,300 submissions uploaded by 706 different designers!

Here are the winners of 2 different categories we had for this challenge: YAHAHA Special Awards (Judged by Yahaha Team) and The best 3D Fantasy Model (Judged by CGTrader Team).

Congratulations to everyone and thank you for your active participation!

12 imaginary places you’d love to experience

It has been four months since the CGTrader Digital Art Competition began, and many 2D and 3D artists have already submitted their fascinating works of digital art. Fantasy landscapes and wonderful sights await anyone who wanders into the competition gallery. If you want to join the competition, submit your works to any of the six listed categories before September 30. Everyone can enter their greatest works – there’s no requirement to create a new piece just for the competition. Here are several works of art that the staff of CGTrader picked to highlight the mid-point of the competition.

Here are the winners among those who submitted more than 2 models that met all of the technical requirements and were of high aesthetic value.

3D Challenge: SPACE is over. Find out who won!

In a sense we’re all flying through space in a spiraling path at a ridiculous speed (did you know we’re only 4 billion years away from the Milky Way colliding with Andromeda?), but for this 3D challenge we put our reference point on Earth and let your imagination run free! The Space challenge invited designers from all over the world to submit space-themed designs in low and high poly categories.

The jury has voted: we now have Sports & Hobbies challenge winners

In the Fall, we were running a Sports & Hobbies themed 3D challenge. We know, quite some time has passed since the challenge was closed, but we have finally decided the winners and hope to get the amazing prizes delivered before the holidays start :) So, without further ado, let’s see who created the models that left the judges in awe.

So who are the best ones? We have the winners of CGTrader Awards 2017

So who are the best ones? We have the winners of CGTrader Awards 2017

“It’s great to know that no matter how complicated and tedious 3D production process might be, the artists still manage to see beyond the technical limitations and use powerful software as freely as a simple canvas, creating meaningful and strikingly beautiful work,” says Kirill Tokarev, one of the judges of CGTrader Awards and editor-in-chief at 80.lv. And we cannot agree more with Kiril. The artwork submitted for CGTrader Awards in just a bit more than two months is exceptional: the quality is impressive, detail and realism achieved are mind-blowing, and engagement from global artist community is something we could not have imagined to have in the very first year of these awards.
