Faith is my shield, and Sigmar my righteous hammer

Edwyn held the lamp high, trying to hide the tremor in his hand. The air of the catacombs was stale with dust and evil alike, and the deathly silence only made the place more disturbing. The faces of his companions, dimly illuminated by the light of his lamp, could not hide their fear and nervousness, and among all the silence, he could hear his own knees tinkling like the bells of a calf. The only thing that kept them going was the presence of that guy.He was a massive mass of muscle and fat, and in the dark you could easily mistake him for an ogre. His rustic face had weathered features, with a pair of small, cold eyes that had a strange gleam of cunning, his skin covered in religious tattoos and symbols of Sigmar, and a gigantic ax resting on one of his shoulders like an old friend who tenderly . rested He hadn't said a single word since they left the settlement, but his mere presence exuded enough confidence to calm his inexperienced companions a little. It was fortunate that he volunteered for this job, as I could never have paid his fee.As they delved further into the labyrinthine corridors of the catacombs, the ossuaries at their sides seemed to observe their every movement, until suddenly the silence was broken by the abominable screech of a creature. Within seconds, a black blur fluttered through their ranks at breakneck speed, each step of the creature ending in screams of wordless pain and the gurgling of blood emanating from the throats of its companions. Some of them tried to defend themselves, raising their shields and shielding their faces, but the force of the thing was greater than their shields and armor could withstand, shattering wood, metal, flesh and bone alike. Others tried to shoot him, but there was no target to aim at... only darkness. Those who raised their weapons quickly discovered that their stomachs had been ripped open, with their guts spilling all over the ground.Within moments, everyone seemed to have died. Edwin tried to run, but the creature jumped on him and knocked him down. It was enormous, with a starving and thin appearance, limbs ending in claws, translucent membranes that extended from its forearms to its ribs, muscular legs and a monstrous face covered in fangs the size of a human finger. He saw those teeth well, because the creature made sure to show them properly when it screamed on top of the poor man, ready to devour him alive. With a trembling voice, Edwyn began to recite prayers to Sigmar, hoping for a miracle...Suddenly, barely illuminated by the light of his fallen lamp, a mass rose up behind the creature. A blur of steel and scarlet flashed before his eyes as the creature's head fell from its neck and its body turned to ash. A hand as big as his own head extended towards him, and even in shock he could make out that huge guy. Sigmar is not just words, he whispered, giving him a terrifying smile.
