hen Sasori was a child, his parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake, the father of Kakashi Hatake, better known as The White Fang of Konoha, on a special mission. This left him alone and an orphan, but his grandmother, Chiyo, secretly took care of him in the absence of his parents. To cheer Sasori up, Chiyo taught him the art of ninja puppetry. Sasori soon proved himself a genius at this Jutsu with amazing abilities.

He started making puppets at the age of 5. His first puppets resembled their parents to get rid of the loneliness he felt. But because they were only puppets, unable to give him the natural parental love he desired, he lost interest in them. Later, they fell into the possession of her grandmother Chiyo.
