Unfortunately, my previous thermos cap lid had a different thread than the model. My previous thermos cap has 3 interlaced threads, whereas the model has only 1. Hence the pitch angle of my previous thermos cap has 3 times the pitch angle. It was my fault for not noticing this. I might try reading the model into autodesk inventor and see if I can change the thread.
