I came up with this design because I adopted two cats that, during their teething period, kept chewing and breaking all my electric cables. I tried different designs and this is the best one I came up with. It shields the cable enough and still allows it to bend a little. It's a reliable and stylish protection for cables if you have curious children as well! The choice of colors is yours, you can also print it in multiple colors or glow-in-the-dark if you have babies!I printed mine in simple PLA+ at 5% infill with a .2 nozzle, no supports and a brim of 5 lines with 1 millimeter distance on a Snapmaker2 F350.The Solid shiels for 3 USB wires and the Solid shield for 3 USB wires (double link) printed in about 25 minutes total each and took 4 grams and 1.22 meters of filament each. The link takes about 5 minutes total and takes 1 gram and 0.17meters of filament (print two for each Solid shield for 3 USB wires (double link)).I used Autodesk 123DDesign to design this model.I did not print it in TPU because my printer has problems with it, but it may be even more flexible. Let me know how it comes out for you if you use TPU!
Assembly: I made the pivot points of the links a little longer so that you can heat them using a small welder and flatten them from the inside a little bit and avoid attaching them to the cylinder. The goal is to make the pivot points wider than the rest of the cylinder inside the hole of the main cylinder. To make things easier, heat one pivot point at a time before linking it to a second big cylinder.
