Sometimes, a single projectile is not enough. The Shrapnel Caster is specially designed to fire hundreds of energetic shards per shot, each shard being able to penetrate 3 inches of dura-armour before losing structural integrity and exploding. The chassis of the caster is able to fire on full automatic, and trigger happy owners are known to fill the sky with thousands and thousands of deadly shards.
This accessory is based on the appearance of the Scatter Blaster in the War for Cybertron video game, and previously made available on Shapeways (Model ID: 75S2RCJJF). Consisting of 2 pieces, the rear half of the Caster pegs to the back of the main chassis, and can be rotated to be held overhand or underslung. The pump handle rail can also serve as a 3mm clip mount.The Shrapnel Caster is 6.7 cm in length.
To keep up with the times, a variant is included with a 3mm diameter peg on the barrel tip for use with blast effect parts.
This model have been successfully printed in SLS nylon, and have not been tested on FDM or SLA printers. However, printing it oriented vertically using FDM, with brim and support structures, should work.
