Version 2.0 (Designed circa 2013)
_"The Direct Response Espionage & Assault Department (D.R.E.A.D) is a sinister branch of Megatron's Vehicon forces. Consisting of the most skilled and ruthless of his soldiers, each D.R.E.A.D member is an expert in infiltrating enemy bases and conducting assassination missions on high profile targets.
In an odd twist from the standard Vehicon trooper, D.R.E.A.D troops have much forceful personalities and eschew faceless masks for individual, unique helmets. They also don't mind the use of melee weapons and slagging it out at close range, but they won't pass on heavy artillery if given the chance."_
This is the headsculpt of 'Corvus', one of three original characters for the Direct Response, Espionage & Assault Department (D.R.E.A.D), a team I made up to exist in the Transformers Prime mythos. They are inspired by the Decepticon 'Dreads' soldiers seen in the Dark of the Moon movie, now given a Prime aesthetic and a helpful backstory. As you might expect, Corvus was a reinterpretation of Crowbar. He was styled as a clownish sort who hacks his way past enemy defenses instead of using brute force attacks. Instead of having four eyes like in the movie, Corvus comes with a pair of 'hacking goggles'.
Originally released on Shapeways (Model ID: 32NAUXRSS).
This head model is meant to fit onto and replace the head of the TF:Prime RID deluxe Vehicon figure, and connects to the body using a 4mm diameter ball socket. There are three parts to the head, the first being a light-piping rear piece (to be printed in transparent resin), the main face sculpt, and the goggles attach to the head using pegs on the side. This allows the goggles to hinge up and down.
This model has been successfully printed in SLA resin, so that process is recommended as it best expresses the details of the model.
