Nusjuro has acquired the power of a Mythical Zoan-type Bakotsu (馬骨?) Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into a bakotsu—a skeletal horse—and a human-bakotsu hybrid resembling a centaur at will. Nusjuro appears to have awakened this ability while maintaining his personality, as indicated by the ribbon of dark, flaming smoke around his shoulders and torso when he is transformed.[12] In such state, he could withstand a point-blank blast of fire from Sabo without difficulty.[13]

Nusjuro is extremely fast in his full Beast and Human-Beast forms, as he charged across the circumference of Egghead's shores and disabled half of the Pacifista quickly, with some witnessing Marines barely able to notice his presence.[12] With this power, Nusjuro can create ice, imbuing his sword with it to make his strikes freeze his targets.[12] As a full Bakotsu, he is capable of biting and crunching foes. Notably, Nusjuro has an unique transformation sequence going from Human-Beast form to Full Beast form, where the human portion of his body is set ablaze as the Bakotsu itself emerges from it, instead of simple shapeshifting like most Zoans do.
