Although he doesn't regret the decisions he made five years ago, he will soon have to face the consequences of his actions. Joel was born on September 26, 1967. He grew up with his younger brother, Tommy Miller, in Austin, Texas.[3] During his childhood, Joel developed a passion for music and dreamed of becoming a famous singer,[4] though he eventually worked as a contractor along with Tommy after his brother left the United States Army. When he was 22 years old, Joel had a daughter, Sarah Miller. He raised her with the help of his brother, working long hours to earn a living.[3] Sometime after Sarah's birth, Joel helped put up a Christmas tree with her.[4]
