Kagutsuchi is the son of Izanami and Izanagi, the creator gods of Japanese mythology, at the time of his birth he accidentally burned his mother which resulted in her death, his father blinded by hatred and sadness of losing Izanami, cuts Kagutsuchi into eight pieces and the spreads across Japan, forming the eight volcanoes, even in pieces he remains alive, becoming known as the god of fire.
