The Chinese Bison hovercraft is the largest air-cushioned landing ship in the world, with a full load displacement of 555 tons. The vessel itself carries a crew of 21 to 31 personnel; its mission is to transport heavy equipment or personnel (such as main battle tanks) and provide a certain degree of shore bombardment support for landing forces. In addition to beach landings, it can also provide logistical support.
