Korean Palanquin - Yongjeong (Joseon Tongsinsa)
Yongjeong(龍亭) is a palanquin used to transport important documents or objects, such as edicts from the Chinese emperor, jade books honoring kings and queens, and gold treasures made of gold, for use in ceremonies. Sometimes it is expressed as Yongjeongja. As Joseon’s ceremonial system was established, appropriate rituals were established for putting in or taking out important documents such as edicts or meaningful objects such as seals bestowed by the emperor into the Yongjeong.
