DESCRIPTION

This interstellar explorer ship comprises 4 elements 1. The main faster than light (FTL) Alcubierre warp drive is a structural framework that contains all the other elements - it is essentially two compressed figure of eight particle accelerators that distorts quantum gravity and time so that all that is contained within its field effectively moves faster than the speed of light through a wormhole in space2. Some call it a disc ship because it looks like a heap of discs - in fact, it is an 8-storey high cylindrical ship that should be self-supporting for a crew of 6. It is 10m in diameter and 20.35m long with a total empty mass of 30 tons. It is ultimately capable of separating from the FTL drive and landing on a planet - however, unless a fuel source can be found, it will never take off again It has 4 hydraulic shock-absorbing landing legs and four Pushkin-2 Bimodal Magnetoplasma Nuclear Thermal Reaction engines.3. There are two scout ships that can seat 6 each for recon in space or in the atmosphere of habitable planets - again use is limited to the availability of fuel there should be sufficient fuel for a single return journey from orbit to a planet surface.4. It is equipped with 4 robotic probes for providing more detailed analysis of atmosphere, water, soils, vegetation, fauna - these are unrecoverable.Note that items 3 & 4 are not included in the model. The model was made for my books "L5 CERT" and "Pegasus" (Books at Smashwords - https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/chas1951)
