First Lunar Outpost was a 1990s proposal for a series of crewed lunar missions that would have launched sometime in the 2010s, as part of the Space Exploration Inititative. The main objective of this program was to establish a long-term base on the moon; this model is of the habitat module which would be used by those missions. The habitat itself was derived from Space Station Freedom (which later became the International Space Station), taking structures and subsystems from the station's hab, lab, and airlock modules. It would be delivered to the lunar surface using a minimally-modified version of the descent stage used for the crewed lander, and would remain permanently attached to that lander. A 20 kW solar array, regenerative fuel cells for nighttime power, and other support systems were mounted on the lander's deck next to the pressurized module
All materials and textures are packed in the .blend file. Unapplied modifiers and instancing have been used to reduce file size and enable easy editing. A zip of image textures is also included for use in other software. The landing legs and solar arrays are articulated.
