delta-Carotene molecule

delta-Carotene molecule 3D model

Description

δ-Carotene (CAS: 472-92-4)

Carotenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons with the formula C40Hx. They occur naturally in plants but (with few exceptions) not in animals. Carotenes are important for photosynthesis. They absorb UV and blue light and scatter orange / red light. Carotenes are responsible for the orange colour of carrots and many other fruits & vegetables, e.g. sweet potatoes.

Molecules are provided in three standard representations and includes a simulated electrostatic (van der Waals) surface. The whole model is provided as a C4D scene, all objects are editable primitives or metaball object.
