Description

Stylised antique spyglass by Dollond of London, 1920.

Model is low-poly, PBR, game-ready, AR/ VR. Hand-painted

Texture; 2048 x 2048, 8-pixel padding, dilation + background. OpenGL

John Dollond was the first person to patent the achromatic doublet.[4][when?] However, it is well known that he was not the first to make such lenses. Optician George Bass, following the instructions of Chester Moore Hall, made and sold such lenses as early as 1733.[5] In the late 1750s, Bass told Dollond about Hall's design; Dollond saw the potential and was able to reproduce them.[4]
