Lord Vishnu, the supreme being within Vaishnavism, one of the major traditions within contemporary Hinduism.
Located at the vicinity of patan durbar square, a temple looking similar to “Chyasin Dewal”, also called krishna mandir. It is said that the temple was built in the same time while the main temple was in construction which was built in memory of the 32 wives of King Yoganarendra Malla, in 1723.
Malla kings that time were in a rivalary with other two malla states, not only in warfare but also in arts and culture, so they decorated their palaces and cities with sculptures of gods, fountains, monasteries and temples. The Malla kings also levelled up their position among common citizens by claiming to be reincarnations of the Hindu god Vishnu, so hence the presence of vishnu’s statue in many places within the palace.
