Realistic pollarded london planetree (platanus × acerifolia, london plane, hybrid plane, platanus × hispanica) model 9.6m (31.5ft) tall. London planetree is a hybrid resulting from a cross between the native sycamore and the non-native Asian planetree. Like sycamore, this is a large tree with beautiful peeling bark. Pollarding is a pruning system involving the removal of the upper branches of a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches.
