High Quality AK-74 Modular Assault Rifle Model - Game/VR Ready 2K Textures
The AK-74 is an assault rifle developed in the 1970s by the Mikhail Kalashnikov as a successor to the AKM. It entered service with the Soviet Army in 1974, hence why the 74 in AK-74. The rifle is chambered in the 5.45×39mm cartridge, which provides lighter recoil compared to the 7.62×39mm round of AK-47 and AKM. Early production models were fitted with laminated wood furniture. The modernized versions, like the AK-74M, utilize durable black polymer stock and handguard. The rifle feeds from a 30-round magazine, with its distinctive orange, plum, or black coloring depending on the manufacturing era. Throughout its history, the AK-74 has had numerous variants, including the compact AKS-74U Krinkov used by vehicle crews and special forces. It has been widely exported and licensed for production in other nations. Despite the development of newer platforms like the AK-12, the AK-74 continues to be the symbol of Eastern Bloc.
