DESCRIPTION

An old side table with a small set of props, realized in Maya with ACES workflow. You can either choose to use ACES converted textures or regular linear sRGB textures (you'll find both in the texture sets).Please note that in the Maya scene attached the color management settings are set as default and all the texture file nodes are not using ACES color spaces. The BaseColor texture files are loading the linear sRGB textures as well. If you wish to work in ACES, you will have to change the color spaces accordingly.Dimensions: 0.55m x 0.55m x 1.03m

This bundle includes:

  • A Maya project folder, containing the scene ('/old_side_table/scenes/old_side_table.ma') with model and assigned materials, as well as all the textures linked with relative paths; and all the texture files ('/old_side_table/sourceimages/Textures/')
  • A FBX and an OBJ exports
  • A RAR package containing only the textures
  • A simple .pdf guide to setup ACES in Maya and the textures color space

GENERAL

  • The model and the static renders were made with Maya 2018 and Arnold 5 (MtoA 3.1.2.1). The Turnaround renders were generated in Houdini 18.5.596 with 3Delight 2.5.14. All the renders are generated with the ACES workflow (ACES 1.0.3), but the model also works on the linear sRGB workflow.
  • FBX version: ASCII 2019, exported with Arnold materials and hierarchy
  • OBJ exported with groups and materials
  • No plugins are required
  • The render scenes, light and camera setups, HDRI images are not included
  • The geometry hierarchy is well organized with groups and meaningful names
  • The model is scaled to real world scale (the table is about 1 m tall), and the Maya scene's working units is set to meters

MODEL

  • The set consists into the 3D model of the table (13059 vtcs) and a set of assets (29783 vtcs - two pictures, two vases, a book), for 42842 vertices in total / 41475 faces at subdiv level 0.
  • All the models are composed only by quads, some triangles are present just on the screws and the hinges of the picture frames.
  • There are not isolated points, overlapping vertices or faces, non manifolds or ngons.
  • All the geometries are meant to be subdividable, and present the necessary support loops near the edges.
  • All the geometries and groups have their pivots centered at the origin, with freezed transformations, and all the edit histories have been cleaned out.

UVs

  • All the model's UVs are carefully layouted using the UDIMs workflow. The table model consists into 4 UDIMs and the assets set consists into 3 UDIMs (the assets are logically separated between the UDIMs). UDIMs are organized per object
  • 313 UV shells in total
  • All the UV seams are hidden when possible
  • Some really small objects that were duplicated (e.g. screws and hinges) have UV shells stacked when identical between each other

TEXTURES

  • Two textures sets: one for the table and one for the assets set, consisting of: BaseColor, Metalness, Roughness, Height, Normal
  • Texture resolution: 4K, Format: EXR 16-bit
  • All the BaseColor textures were also converted to ACEScg ('Utility Linear sRGB' ->; 'ACEScg'). You will find both the sRGB version and the ACEScg version.

MATERIALS

  • The model has three materials assigned (all ai_StandardSurface type): 'ai_table_MAT' on the table, 'ai_assets_MAT' on the assets and 'ai_glass_MAT' on the glass covers of the pictures.
  • All the materials include a DisplacementShader node. You can remove it if not needed for your purposes.
