DESCRIPTION

About Anders Pehrson:Born in 1912 in Sweden, Anders Pehrson studied engineering in Göteborg before becoming design director for household appliances and lighting giant Philips, where he worked from 1952 to 1963. He took then over as head of Ateljé Lyktan, a Swedish lighting brand, where he built up the company’s international reputation. He was its owner, manager and artistic director until 1978.His philosophy is to create homogenous ensembles and spaces with multiple light sources but with the same inspiration. Thus, he creates complete product families, available in pendant, floor, wall and table lamps. He is the creator of many of the company’s best-sellers, such as the Supertube and Bumling, two classics from the 1970s. In 1972, around 16,000 luminaires from Ateljé Lyktan were installed in the Olympic Village at the Munich Games. Anders Pehrson died in 1982.
