DESCRIPTION

The concept of the 34° - 136° AGO upholstered furniture collection is based on the story of Ama divers fishing for pearls in Japanese waters. Their work originated over 2000 years ago and is still practiced. Ama dive without any equipment and often even without clothes. One of the largest places for pearling is the picturesque Ago Bay. It was in this place that in 1893 Mikimoto Kokichi, the first to master the art of pearl cultivation, built his shellfish farms. Designers expressed the image of fished pearls in the backs of sofas and armchairs, consisting of soft balls. The geographic coordinates of the Ago Bay are 34°17 N.L. and 136°47 E - used in the name of the subject.Developed by architects of ARCH(E)TYPE bureau, Russia.
