DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the pillow packaging device is to facilitate the packaging process. Usually two people are needed topack a stack of two pillows. This device requires only one person to maintain the packaging process. The process begins by putting two stacked pillows on the extruded table. Then theplastic bag is put on the closed plastic bag tensioner - “the gate”. When the gate start to open the plastic bagstretches and at the moment the gate are fully opened the bag is tightly stretched and fixed in the open position.Subsequently pillows are pushed through the open gate into a plastic bag by a person and the table which startscontract by operating the pneumatic cylinder. When the stack of pillows are inside the plastic bag the gates arereturned to its initial closed position and the plastic bag can be easily taken from the gate. Thereafter the conveyorstart working and the stack of pillows is conveyed to an under the press zone. In the press zone the stack iscompressed with a 750kg force. The stack’s height might be reduced by more than a half of its initial heightdepending on pillow’s stiffness. While the pillows stay in compressed state the sealing process start. Sealingprocess is carried out by compressing and heating the surface of the bag with upper and lower pneumatic cylindersand by the unique but widely used impulse heating principle. After several seconds of sealing the appendix ofplastic bag is cut and blown to a waste box by installed air ports. In the last operation the press islifted up and sealed pillows are transferred by the conveyor to the next stage of the process.
