Two designs of a 5-Axis Machine are proposed. Both were made using Solid Edge ST3. Design 1 comprises of two motors for X-axis motion whereas Design 2 comprises of a single motor and use of belt and pulleys.
Machining tool is moved along 3 linear axis (axis X, Y, Z in the labelled diagram). Part / Workpiece is rotated about 2 rotational axis (axis A and B in the labelled diagram). Together - 3 linear axis and 2 rotational axis - they make up the 5 axis machine.
Converted file formats of the model include SolidWorks Assembly (.sldasm), (.stp), (.fbx) and (.obj). Formats (.igs, .stl, .sat, .x_t) are included in a zip file. Numbers (1) and (2) in the names of file formats stand for (Design 1) and (Design 2) respectively.
There are two 3D pdf files of the two proposed designs. Another pdf file comprising of project report is also added.
All of the above images and videos are included in separate zip files.
