Functional design from 1951Great comfortHand-woven rattanQuality craftsmanship

The PK22 Rattan Lounge Chair by Poul Kjærholm is an uncluttered, simple design, made up of apparent floating forms. Kjærholm created this chair as part of his graduation project called ‘The Element’ from the School of Applied Arts in Denmark, where it gained instant recognition for its simple and functional construction. The hand-woven rattan provides a comfortable and flexible seat. The light and stable construction of the frame reflects Kjaerholm’s extensive experiments with steel and its welding properties. The PK22 Rattan Lounge Chair is a beautiful piece of furniture suitable for any home or office environment.
