Boone Pickens Stadium (previously known as Lewis Field) has been home to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys football team in rudimentary form since 1919, and as a complete stadium since 1920. Aligned in an east-west direction since 1920, the field is the oldest in the Big 12 Conference. Boone Pickens Stadium is an American football stadium located in Stillwater. It was opened in 1914 as Lewis Field. During a game in 2003, the stadium was renamed Boone Pickens Stadium to honor businessman Boone Pickens who donated over $400 million to Oklahoma State University. It has a capacity of 55,509.
