Ras al-Khaimah is the northernmost emirate of the UAE, famous for its beaches. The capital of the emirate bears the same name. In this city, there is the National Museum, which occupies the building of an ancient fortress. It features exhibits related to regional history and archeology. Not far from the traditional Mosque of Mohammed bin Salem, and in the northeastern part of the city rises the 19th century Daya Fort.
