This is a Cinema 4D exclusive Asset capsule, aimed at helping with modelling, texturing and animating Film rolls. Modelled after the real CinemaScope Anamorphic 4-perforation film stock, this model and rig was made to make it easier to texture and create a texture atlas from a video or movie of ones own choise! Using an after effects 2022 project, the process of creating the texture atlas and mapping it onto a variable length film strip was never easier!
Includes:
How to use:
1.1 Drop in your source video into the Source Footage composition
1.2 In the Final Texture composition, select the controller, and in it's effects, change the sliders value to the amount of film strips you want on the texture atlas
1.3 Inside the Texture Atlas composition, Make sure there enough layers for the amount of film strips you decided to use.
1.4 Add Final Texture To render queue and render 1 frame.
Import the Assets from All_Assets_Dynamic_Film_Roll.zip into your c4D crate assets database.
Use them in Cinema 4D!
3.05 Make a new material in your render engine of choise, then link the texture atlas under Refraction/Transmission color.
3.1 Drag Dynamic Film Roll generator into your object tree.
3.2 Put the Film strip model under the Generator. Type in the parameters you set while exporting the texture into the generator. Link the material in the generator. Done!
IF you want to use the included film roll model and wrap it, continue: Else, have fun!
3.3 Put the generator next to a Spline wrap effector, and all under a single null.
3.4 Drag out the Spiral generator and Assistant capsules into the scene.
3.5 Put the spiral generator under a connect node, then make sure all their attributes match the framerate and frame count you used in AE.
3.6 Link the connect node inside the Spline wrap as a spline.
3.7 Make sure the Spiral Generators Length parameter matches what the Asisstant node wrote in the scene in splines
Then tweak the spline wraps settings and Done!Video tutorial on how to use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NzyZSjIsXc
