I need a somewhat accurate Galaxy S9 for a project I'm working on and thought I'd try buying one instead of modelling it myself. I don't have 3DS Max so I used the FBX and OBJ files and texture files in main archive. These were imported into Blender 3.3.1. I compared measurements with a physical S9. 1. There was a large extraneous plane and other stray geometry in both FBX and OBJ necessitating cleanup to remove. 2. The phone was offset well away from the origin in both FBX and OBJ. 3. I was unable to determine the units used for modelling and ended up guessing at a scaling factor of 0.049 to get the model units into meters. 4. The model was 2mm too thin 6.5mm instead of 8.6mm so I had to scale up the thickness, leading the headphone port to be oval. 5. The texture and modelling will require significant rework to put an actual Android screen on the model. 6. The FRONT_TEXTURE.jpg has baked in highlights meaning lighting on closeups may be difficult to correct. 7. The FBX model was missing planes around the Flash cutout. 8. Button and port locations are close enough for my needs but someone using this model as the basis for a case may have problems as the volume and Bixby are off by a couple of millimeters.
