CONTENTS A simple, Black male character with clean topology designed with animation in mind. this low polygon character is fully rigged with a full body skeletal rig, Facial rig and a simplified muscle system rig with blendshapes and hands on animation controls for whole body character animation Model is ideal for animation action pre-planning, Visualizations, animations and look development A clean and comprehensive rigging approach makes simple mesh tweaks easy as editing the main blendshape mesh (bShp_Dopple01)

  • (To locate skeletal rig open OUTLINER > CHARNODE01 > BLENDSHAPES01 > BSHP_DOPPLE01) -Project scene file saved as a maya binary (.mb)
  • Character is modeled to real world scale of about 172cm
  • All texture maps are provided as high quality tiff files
  • To simplify rendering of character, custom skin shaders (for vray, arnold and mental ray), have already been created for you in the hypershade. All you need to do is select the skin shader that corresponds to your preferred renderer, apply it to character mesh and your set for rendering -Examples of realistic skin shader configurations already applied to the character mesh are available as scene files in the scene directory of the project -All character meshes have clean non- overlapping UV layout -Character does not have genitals -No character clothing or accessory in included. -A character set made up of easy to interpret sub- character sets have been set up already. -To ensure smooth operation please ensure that all the scenes files (including Mr_Dopple.mb) are placed in the scenes folder and all the textures are placed in the sourceimages directory -Please note entire project is provided as a zip file, simply unzip to use.

The character skeletal rig was built to offer ample hands on control of character during animation or posing.
All animation controls are located at or close to there intended deformation area for close control and deformation feedback. Character's arms are rigged with the option of IK and FK controls with a switch for toggling between IK or FK modes Character's Facial rig enables good facial animation by combining facial animation controls and basic blendshapes for

  • Cheek expansion -Smile -Frown -Multiple facial expressions like speech phonemes, eye blinks, nose flaring, lip rolls, sadness, exhaustion and many more are all possible using the robust facial controls

CHARACTER MUSCLE RIG (To locate skeletal rig open OUTLINER > CHARNODE01 > GLOBALMOVE01 > GRPMUSCLES)

Character has a built in simple muscle system to allow for cleaner deformations in areas like the elbows, knees, shoulder, armpits, buttocks and neck Natural secondary movement of character skin during animation with realistic squash and stretch in areas like the biceps, quadriceps, forearms, chest, back, calf and shoulder. Muscles enhance the feel of weight during animation
