The 2nd Video shows the arms in a Meta Quest 2 project I created using a VR arm system with ellbow correction from the Unity Asset Store, which now can be found free on github. Link provided below! ;) If you watch closely you will see the display on the left forearm has real UI elements, which made interactions in the game possible.
Also, check out: Robot Arms I Package and Pistol & Blaster VR Package, which were made for the arms!!!!
UPDATE 2.0:
- 2nd Dark Texture Skin added
- Fixed metal shine on limb bones (was too dirty)
Summary:
- These arms were optimized for Quest2 performance level and above!
- The texturing & unwrapping was done on a single material/texture, to prevent further draw calls for mobile VR systems.
- The wrist, the thumb and the pinky finger do have a special bone, for more human realism. Doesn't feel stiff!
- The texture of the display is without any baked UI
Was tested and works great with the free Unity addon [VRarmsIK], which has till now the best elbow correction system ever invented. And it’s free too! However, I tested these arms with this system and it was an amazing result. The arms are not connected to a “chest” bone, to be able to switch arms in runtime. ;) You can get the Unity VRArmIK system on github: https://github.com/dabeschte/VRArmIK
