Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the iconic, shape-shifting primary form of an ancient, cosmic evil known as It, which terrorizes the town of Derry, Maine, by preying on children's fears every 27 years, feeding on their terror before hibernating; it's a powerful entity from the Macroverse that can manipulate reality, project illusions, and appear as its victims' worst nightmares, but is ultimately vulnerable to belief and connection, especially from children, often manifesting with red balloons and a creepy smile before its true, terrifying form (a giant spider) is revealed. Appearance & PersonaClown Form: A colorful, often vintage-style clown with an unnerving, wide smile, white face, and distinctive red makeup, sometimes with orange hair.Shapeshifting: Can transform into anything to frighten victims, using their deepest phobias, but favors the clown to disarm and lure children.Alias: Also known as It, Robert Bob Gray, and various other names. Origins & NatureCosmic Entity: An ancient being from the Macroverse, a dimension outside our universe, part of a species called the Deadlights.Diet: Feeds on fear and flesh, particularly the potent fear of children, using them as a buffet.Cycle: Awakens roughly every 27 years in Derry to hunt, crashing on Earth as a meteor long ago.
