DESCRIPTION

Rough but elegant, this helm is adorned with chainmail to keep your neck safe and stylish.

For the material, I suggest just a simple metallic shader with your favorite roughness texture plugged in as the bump map. At least that's what I did in the renders pictured. No doubt you can come up with something better, and all the pieces are unwrapped, so you can just plug your textures right in. Don't have a texture, you say? Well, everything I used is backed into the attached .blend, so you can just grab it from there!

About that rigging: The chainmail links a hooked up to strips of cloth via a myriad of empties. If you put a collision object under the rig or shake the helmet around, the chainmail should react. Of course, this will only work in the helmet's native blender, and I also removed the empties from all the file exports, but if you want them back in to recreate the effect in your favorite software, just let me or grab it from the .blend. And if you can't get the physics working, let me know. I'm around. I can help you out.
