DESCRIPTION

Photorealistic Common Male Kestrel

The asset includes photorealistic male common kestrel models for use in beautiful natural wild life scenes. The kestrel is a taxidermied sample of the bird of prey species, freezed in the spread-wings position.

Its flash lighted in studio environment and accurate photo scanned with attention for detail.Perfect for using in close-up's or in environment visualisations. For all CG artists who wants to expand their asset collection with a photorealistic bird.

Both versions (lowpoly and midpoly) come from the 3D scanning process. Their meshes were cleaned and poly-reduced, the lowpoly and the midpoly are highly deccimated to be more fluently in the work process. They are also optimized and retopologized into square meshes for the subsequent efficient work with them. What is worth mentioning is the eye part of the model: To achieve more realism the eyes were created afterwards and provided with materials that based on real referal images.

What you can except

  • Photographed with high quality equipment
  • Photo scanned with attention for detail in studio light conditions
  • Lowpoly and midpoly models are retopologized into quad meshes, cleaned and unwrapped
  • For more realism: Roughness map | Normal map were also part of it. All of them perfectly fit into the meshes

Why you should choose this

  • Unlike a single 3D scan process, extra work and effort was put into making the model look as real as possible and making it clean to work with.
  • Attention was paid to the different maps of the materials to interact with light.
  • For more realism the eyes have its own glass material.
  • The dimensions of the real world allow you to quickly place it in your 3D scene without any scale changings.

Textures:

  • The textures for the midpoly models come in 4K, PNG resolution
  • The textures for the lowpoly models come in 4K, JPEG resolution

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras

Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal

No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.

Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.

UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
