SNJ (United States Navy) /Harvard (British Commonwealth air forces) the was built by North American Aircraft. It served as single-engine advanced pilot trainer for the US Navy, Marines and other allied forces during World War II. It also was in service as a liaison support aircraft during the early part of World War II as a photo recon and spotter aircraft. After the war many were sold to third world countries and remained in service with air forces around the world until the 1960s and 1970s.

Most were retired in the 1950s from active service. The US Navy and Marines sold these aircraft as surplus in the 1960s to civilian pilots and were used as advanced trainers, aerobatic trainers and for air show. Now the AT-6, SNJ and T-6 are in the hands of hundreds of private owners who take great care in maintaining and flying these aircraft.
