DESCRIPTION

This high poly model is build very near to scale and is within a couple of percent of the actual dimensions. It has a detailed exterior including radio antennas and pitot tubes. Landing gear have been finished with a moderate amount of detail too. The model is fully textured. In addition this model comes with animateable ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, landing gear, landing gear doors and propellers. The model is available in several different formats. We are providing the Lockheed L10 Electra model in a variety of liveries.

The Lockheed L10 or Model 10 Electra was an early modern twin engine single aisle ten seat airliner. These aircraft were in service with commercial carriers until the 40s, corporate and charter companies until the 60s and 70s and with private owners until the late 1980s and 90s. Only a few remain in service or in museums around the world.

The aircraft was used by many airlines and some military organizations from around the world. The Lockheed Model 10 Electra was also made famous by Dick Merrill as the aircraft that took movie reels of the Hindenburg across the Atlantic and returned bringing back movie reels of the coronation in Britain. This round trip to London was considered the first commercial airlines flight from New York to London. Amelia Earhardt also made the aircraft famous by attempting a round the world flight twice. The first attempt she crashed the aircraft on take off in Hawaii. The second attempt started in Miami just after Dick Merrils flight to London. She made it to the South Pacific and disappeared and her of the aircraft have never been found.
