The B-26 Marketeer was a civilian use modified B-26 Invader designed to use the aircraft as an executive or personal transport. These aircraft had no weapons or mounts on board, more seating added to the after section and some amenities’ had been added. A civilian styled paint scheme, larger engines and fuel tanks mounted on the wing tips to add more range provided a fairly good civilian transport. Although not designed specifically for transport of civilians it was faster than all civil aircraft available at the time. These aircraft were only produced for a short time as the economy never did develop the need for an executive aircraft like this. Many were sold and operated well into the 1970s and 1980s.
