DESCRIPTION

Ships in this class - Charleston, Mobile, Durham, St. Louis, El Paso. It is scaled to just over 32, but can easily be scaled up, as I plan on making mine about 48. Best results by FDM printing the hull in sliced sections to fit your printer and then resin print the deck and upper areas. In the consolidated 3mf file you will also find models of the small boats (LCM 6 & 8 boats) that the Lou carried.

Highly advisable to use the .3mf file to pull apart the sections as needed, since most parts are grouped together.

There might be some sanding and fitting and such that will need to be done when working on the project and hope all those 'Gator Freighter' sailors out there enjoy it. Also, this is not an exact replica, but as close as I can get with my meager modeling/building skills.

2/23/22 - Added an obj file, as requested.

If you download the free Microsoft 3D Builder you can open all 3mf, stl, obj, etc. files and modify, convert, etc. Anyways, I have added an obj version of the complete file, based on the 3mf file. I am not sure if all sections are still able to be separated, though. And, the obj file becomes pretty big.

It IS a shame there's not a more popular version (fbx, obj, etc) of this classic warship available. ANYONE who can do a conversion to OBJ, FBX, -etc - would be rightly lauded for the effort. (fingers Xed)
