Duke of Yorks Cinema

Duke of Yorks Cinema Free 3D model

Description

The Duke of Yorks Picture House is the oldest continuously operating purpose built cinema in Britain. It was also one of the first cinemas in the world. It opened on 22nd September 1910 and the building remains largely unaltered. It was built on the site of the Amber Ale Brewery. The architects were Clayton and Black. It houses a single screen with 283 seats, including a luxury balcony. There is also a cafe/bar upstairs. The Duke of Yorks is a Grade II listed building. The giant model legs on the top are one of the more eye catching elements of the building, these came from the 'Not the Moulin Rouge Theatre' in Oxford. Well worth a visit for a different kind of cinema experience.
