Background Erik Magnus's metamutant powers emerged during his teenage years, causing a deep rift with his brother, Will Magnus, who grew to resent and fear him. Taking on the name Magneto, Erik assembled a team of super-powered mutants called the Brotherhood of Mutants. Their conflict escalated to a deadly turning point when Will unleashed his Sentinel robots, which wiped out the Brotherhood, sparing only Magneto.

Driven by this tragedy, Erik used his magnetic powers to create the Magnetic Men, a group of robotic allies dedicated to the mutant cause and combating Sentinels. He also developed a super-computer, Cerebro, to identify and assist other mutants. Magneto maintains a fierce rivalry with Mister X, the leader of JLX.

Abilities Magneto possesses mastery over electromagnetic forces, enabling him to manipulate metals, unleash energy blasts, interfere with electronics, generate protective forcefields, and fly through magnetic levitation.
