3D PRINT SETTINGSRecommended scale

- Display figure: 100–180 mm tall
- Desk statue: 180–250 mm tall
- Bigger prints show off armor and beard detail best.
Best results: Resin (SLA/MSLA)Why: crisp detail on beards, belts, rivets, facial features.Suggested resin settings (starting point):
- Layer height: 0.03–0.05 mm
- Supports: light/medium, more support under beard tips, elbows, belt edges
- Orientation: tilt 20–35° backward or sideways to reduce suction and preserve face detail
- Hollowing (large prints): optional; add 2–3 mm wall + 2 drain holes
Post-processing tips:
- Wash, fully cure, then lightly sand support marks
- Prime with a thin coat for best paint adhesion
- FDM printing (PLA/PETG) – Totally doableWhy: strong, affordable, big desk-size prints look awesome.
Suggested FDM settings (starting point):
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm (0.2 mm for extra detail if you have patience)
- Layer height: 0.12–0.20 mm (0.16 is a nice balance)
- Walls/perimeters: 3–4
- Top/bottom layers: 4–6
- Infill: 10–18% (gyroid/grid) for minis; 15–25% for larger statues
- Supports: “Tree supports” recommended; focus under beard, arms, shoulder armor, crown/horns
- Orientation: upright usually works; slight tilt can reduce support marks on the face
FDM finishing tips:
- Quick sanding + filler primer makes the sculpt look “collector-grade”
- Dry brush on armor edges makes detail pop even before full paint
- Support placement advice (Quick checklist)
You’ll usually need supports here:
- underside of beard points
- under forearms/hands
- under shoulder plates
- around crown/horn overhangs
- belt ornaments or hanging cloth tabs
- Try to keep supports off the face whenever possible.
