THE SULUK COMMUNITY MOSTLY LIVES IN THE EAST COAST AREAS OF SABAH SUCH AS SANDAKAN, KINABATANGAN, LAHAD DATU AND SEMPORNA. TRADITIONALLY THEY LIVED AS FISHERMEN AND FARMERS. THE STATUS OF THE HOMEOWNER CAN BE SEEN ON THE WOODEN CARVINGS OF THE ROOF OF THE HOUSE SUCH AS DRAGON CARVINGS AND MANUKS.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE SULUK HOUSE IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR MAIN SPACES, NAMELY SALAS HAGUWA, SALAS HALAUM, PAGING KURAN HALAMBAY AND DAPULAN. THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PORCH WHICH ARE SALAS HALAUM AND PAG-HALI-HALIHAN-HA-GUWA SALAS. TWO ROOMS, PAG'TUGAN, ARE THE BED OF PARENTS AND SONS. IT'S A BEDROOM FOR GIRLS. DAPULAN, ON THE OTHER HAND, SERVES AS A PLACE TO COOK AND STORE FOOD.
