Pudao is a sword used during the Song Dynasty in China. It is said that it started as a shortened Engetsutou handle. It is a very heavy curved sword, and is swung with both hands. It is often simple, without any decoration on the brim or the end of the handle. It was often used as a civilian weapon in peasant uprisings. It is also called Taiping Dao because it was used by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom army during the Taiping Rebellion of the Qing Dynasty.
