In this series the story tells that Hordak (Skeletor's master) kidnapped Adora (She-Ra), Adam's sister (He-Man), newborn in an attack on the palace of Eternia, in revenge, Hordak having failed to conquer Eternia at that time, brought her to Etheria, raised her, and made her captain of the Horde Army guard. In the first episodes of the series, He-Man goes to Etheria through a dimensional portal. There he knows the situation of the place and how the Horde subdues and takes advantage of the town, so he joins other characters in the rebellion. In an attack by the Horde he meets Adora, who manages to take him unconscious to the Hordak base, where they share a few words and Adora prepares to go out in order to see with her own eyes what the Horde is really doing and check if he is or not on the right side.After discovering the horrors to which his master Hordak subdues the population, it confronts him but the sorceress Shadow-weaver, his assistant, submits it under a spell to remain faithful. In the end, called by Sorceress, the Guardian Sorceress of Castle Grayskull through the Sword of Protection, Adora discovers the whole truth about her past and about who He-Man really is: her twin brother. After saving him as She-Ra and escaping together, she would lead The Rebellion against Hordak ever since.
