Minnie Mouse is an anthropomorphic mouse, a cartoon character created in 1928 by Walt Disney. The heroine's full name is Minerva Mouse, but it is rarely used in cartoons. Minnie is portrayed as Mickey Mouse's love interest, as well as Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow's best friend.Minnie Mouse first appeared in the silent cartoon Airplane Crazy (1928). In the story, Mickey invited Minnie to join him on his first airplane flight. She accepted the invitation, but turned down Mickey when he offered her a kiss mid-flight. In this cartoon, Minnie Mouse is shown as a brave and well-mannered mouse with a strong character, resistant to the manifestations of the feelings of the character in love with her.

Minnie's first appearance was in the Walt Disney animated short Airplane Crazy, released in 1928. The first cartoons were silent, and later the mouse was subsequently voiced by such actresses as Marcelite Garner, Ruth Clifford (1946-1952), Russi Taylor (1986-2019) and Caitlin Robrock, who voices Minnie to this day.On January 22, 2018, Minnie Mouse was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with the wording For her roles in animated films, and for her outstanding influence on fashion since her debut appearance, in honor of the 90th anniversary. Also in the Fairytale Kingdom town square is a statue of Roy Oliver Disney sitting on a bench next to Minnie Mouse. As of 2024, the image of Minnie Mouse is in the public domain (however, this only applies to early versions in the first Disney cartoons).Minnie is a mouse with a sensitive, romantic character. She is smart, resourceful, sympathetic and brave-hearted. The ability to see beauty and harmony where others do not see often helps her out of ridiculous situations. Other characters take advantage of her kindness, but the heroine is not offended. She wants to help everyone and everyone, steadfastly solving problems of both friends and enemies and is not afraid to sacrifice herself to save others. Mickey appreciates his beloved for her perseverance and tenderness, for her vulnerability and sensitivity. The heroine personifies the best of human qualities, she brings happiness to everyone who surrounds her. However, she is also no stranger to cunning. Despite the fact that the mouse can cope with all adversity perfectly well on her own, she provides her beloved Mickey with the opportunity to excel and puts him in situations where he needs to demonstrate his strengths. The combination of femininity and worldly wisdom makes the image of Minnie an example to follow for young viewers. In some cartoons and episodes of The Mickey Mouse Club, Minnie has a pet - a kitten named Figaro, who first appeared in the cartoon Pinocchio.Minnie is a cute and very attractive mouse. Her sweet voice adds to her charm. The beauty and femininity of the heroine is emphasized by her outfits - fluffy skirts, lace pantaloons, high-heeled shoes.Minnie's image was supposed to reflect the flapper culture and fashion trends of the youth culture of her time, in particular, the love of the color red. She was also supposed to appear in blue and green outfits. In Iwerks's early black-and-white cartoons, she has a large rectangular underwear patch above her tail.In the 1940s, Minnie's outfit was revised: her eyes became more distinct, the small hat with a protruding flower on her head was replaced by a flower attached between her ears, and then a bow became a signature feature of the look. The mouse also got small bows on her shoes.Another essential Minnie attribute is the white polka dot pattern on her clothes and accessories. In her daily life, Minnie always wears a pink dress with a purple sash and a dark pink bow decorated with white polka dots, as well as pink shoes decorated with light pink flowers.Underneath her dress, Minnie always wears a red bikini, consisting of a bra, panties, and a skirt, and decorated with a white polka dot pattern. The mouse uses it as both underwear and swimwear. Therefore, when preparing to relax in bed or near the water (for example, on the beach), Minnie will only have to take off her dress and remain in just a swimsuit. For example, finding herself on the beach coast of the resort island of Bali as part of a summer beach holiday in Dutch Indonesia, Minnie simply took off her dress, stripped down to a bikini swimsuit, and immediately went swimming and having fun in the sand.Minnie Mouse was dressed by such fashion designers as Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui. In 2012, as part of a charity program at London Fashion Week, Minnie's outfits were created by Giles Deacon, Richard Nicoll and Michael van der Ham. The same year, Minnie appeared in an animated video for the Barneys department store: she found herself in fashionable Paris, where she met top models such as Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista and took to the catwalk to demonstrate the Lanvin fashion house collection. This video was criticized for making Minnie look too thin. The following year, 2013, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, the head of the Lanvin house, Alber Elbaz, created a new outfit for Minnie.
