DESCRIPTION

There is no other squadron in the IAF like the 113th (Hornet) Squadron, which operates the Saraf (Apache Longbow). 65 years ago, it was first established at Hatzor AFB as a fighter squadron called the Second Jet, which operated the French Ouragan aircraft. In 1986, due to a wave of budget cuts in the IAF, the squadron was temporarily closed until 1990, when it re-opened as an attack helicopter squadron, operating the Peten (Apache AH-64) - the first of its kind in the IAF.
