Full description:
This is a stylized military chess set inspired by early 20th century / World War I German army aesthetics.
Each chess piece was redesigned as a different military-themed figure or object:
King — general / high-ranking officer in a peaked capQueen — female officer in a side capBishop — officer with gas mask and cloakKnight — armored vehicle / early tank-inspired pieceRook — bunker / pillboxPawn — regular soldier with helmet
The set is designed as a collectible 3D printable chess set with a consistent visual style across all pieces. The figures are made to look like busts / miniatures placed on classic chess bases, so they can work both as chess pieces and as display miniatures.
AI disclosure:
AI tools were used during the concept stage, mainly to help generate and explore facial references, because sculpting realistic faces from scratch is not my strongest skill.
The overall idea, chess roles, visual direction, selection, redesign, cleanup, adaptation for 3D style, and final preparation were done by me. The AI output was used only as a supporting reference and was fully reworked into the final design.
