Blessed Ones are heavily mutated marines who more closely remember the predators of the deep then walking Coral reefs. They were once noble Corsairs who specialized in melee combat and rapid incursions into enemy lines. Corsairs who preferred blade and pistol to rifle were greatly admired by the Dread Admiral and he often formed them into specialized squadrons to maximize their efficiency. As such, Corsairs in these squads believed themselves to be favored by their gene-sire and fought on his behalf with zealous energy. After their legion was condemned to the bottom of the ocean for millennia, their fervor and fanaticism for their father manifested itself in strange ways. While their brethren slept and gradually became coral encrusted husks, these warriors continuously patrolled the depths, standing guard over their father's prison. Gradually, their once noble forms mutated into horrid amalgamations of man and beast with hands being replacing with vicious claws or grasping tentacles. In present day, these warriors refer to themselves as 'Blessed Ones' and believe that their mutations are holy gifts granted to them by their gene- father. While their brethren march steadily forward, Blessed Ones use their dark gifts to rapidly speed ahead of their forces to wreck untold havoc on the surface dwellers who dare oppose them.
