DESCRIPTION

Narasimha is the fierce, half-man, half-lion avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, who appeared to protect his devout follower Prahlada from the demon Hiranyakashipu. This form was taken to overcome a boon that prevented the demon from being killed by any human or animal, allowing Vishnu to defeat him by appearing as neither.
