TIE Starfighter – Modular Wing System – Engineered for Strength, Detail, and Playability
This is a high-detail, 6 x 6 x 6 inch TIE-style starfighter designed for durability, clean printing, and satisfying modular assembly.Everything was modeled in Fusion 360 using real engineering practices—proper chamfers, fillets, panel depths, wall thicknesses, and calibrated tolerances. The result is not just a display piece but a toy-grade, sturdy, “pick it up and fly it around” model that feels great in your hands.
What makes this model different?
• Engineered tolerances:The fuselage and wings connect with a precision D-slot system featuring a measured ~0.005" fit gap for smooth insertion and a strong friction hold.
• 6-inch presence that feels substantial:At roughly 6 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 6 inches long, this model has real shelf presence while staying fast and economical to print.
• Durable, play-friendly design:Frame thickness, rib width, and solar panel geometry are intentionally built to resist snapping — ideal for collectors and kids (ages 7+ with supervision).
• Clean, sharp surface detail:Solar panel grooves, hex hub, edge chamfers, and cockpit trim print clean on any modern printer without supports.
• Modular wing system:Left and right wings detach cleanly and can be swapped with future variants. This is the first entry in the Kraemer CAD Studio TIE Family.
• Optimized for fast printing:Minimal material waste, no supports, no fragile nonsense.
